Funding from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation and Research Manitoba is allowing cutting-edge research to be conducted at the University of Winnipeg. Principal Investigator Dr. Stephanie Bugden, along with Drs. Amy Desroches and Stephen Smith, have received funding to purchase multiple pieces of equipment that will enhance the Department of Psychology's ability to conduct cognitive neuroscience research. As part of the grant, the researchers have purchased an MRI simulator that will allow potential participants to experience the MRI environment prior to testing. The researchers have also purchased functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and portable electroencephalography (EEG) equipment. These research tools will be used by faculty and student trainees on a number of different projects.
